DocFlow AI – Technical Document Intelligence
Turning technical PDFs into structured knowledge.
A system that reads technical documents and automatically extracts parameters, classifications, and compliance information.
Overview
DocFlow AI is a document intelligence system focused on technical PDFs. It aims to reduce the time engineers and operations teams spend searching, extracting, and verifying information from long, dense documents.
The Problem
Technical documents — specifications, datasheets, standards, and vendor submissions — are the backbone of engineering projects. But they are dense, inconsistently formatted, and exist in hundreds of versions. Teams spend hours manually searching for specific parameters, cross-referencing revisions, and verifying that the latest version has been used. This slows down reviews, introduces errors, and creates compliance risk.
The Approach
DocFlow AI processes documents through a pipeline of parsing, classification, and intelligent extraction. Key capabilities include: a smart PDF reader with highlight and annotation tools; extraction templates for different document types; a RAG-based Q&A engine that answers questions using the document context; version comparison to track changes between revisions; and automatic metadata enrichment and tagging. The system is designed to serve both engineers doing technical reviews and approvers managing hundreds of submissions.
My Role
Defined the product scope and feature set. Designed the AI architecture and how documents flow through parsing, classification, and retrieval. Specified UX flows for reviewers and approvers — ensuring the product handles the reality of hundreds of documents across multiple projects without overwhelming users.
Impact & Outcomes
Less time spent searching inside large PDFs. More consistent use of the latest document revisions. A searchable knowledge layer on top of technical documentation that survives project handover.
